Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise organises its first Developers’Day on the topic of Artificial Intelligence
PARIS, France – [June 13 2022] - Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, a leading provider of communications, cloud and networking solutions tailored to customers’ industries, invited all ALE employees worldwide to attend its first Developers’ Day dedicated to Artificial Intelligence (AI).
In a world where technology is at the service of human beings at work and at home, AI has become critical for making use of vast volumes of data to enable intelligent decision making. It supports efficiency, productivity and the creation of ‘super-smart societies’ with remote and hybrid working, e-commerce, fraud prevention, personalised learning and smart education, autonomous vehicles, facial recognition and more. AI applications are being used across all industries, from healthcare, education, business and manufacturing, to gaming. Using AI and other technological advances, like Cloud and 5G, in a virtuous manner can help human beings improve their living conditions and make the most of their everyday lives.
The importance of AI, and its growing pervasiveness in everyday life, made it the theme of choice for the Developers’ Day. ALE is a long-established business with over 100 years of experience and a proven track record of innovation. The company’s digital transformation extends to its solutions portfolio making use of AI, for example in the OmniAccess® Stellar Asset Tracking solution, or the “Alie” Chatbot.
Inspired by other tech innovators, ALE’s Developers’ Day created the opportunity for ALE developers to share their best practices and expertise to increase awareness and technology skill levels throughout the company. The event was purposefully extended to all employees to reinforce a common vision centred around innovation, company pride and a drive to change the world for the better with technology. It also fostered cross-division collaboration and teamwork.
The day included a variety of presentations, demonstrations, discussions, round tables and Q&A sessions led by ALE developers. Interactive quizzes and videos were shared by ALE subject matter experts, industry professionals and researchers around a number of topics, including AI and Ethics, Explainable AI, sentiment analysis, and more. ALE experts also discussed how the company utilises AI with a pragmatic and evolutive approach, uses Automatic Speech Recognition and Automatic Voice Message classification, implements contacts suggestions and noise reduction in its collaborative Rainbow™ Cloud Platform and offers the “Alie” Supply Chain Bot for order monitoring to its customers, partners and employees.
Initial feedback from the Developers’ Day was very positive, demonstrating the utility of this type of event. Participants joined from many different parts of the organisation across the globe.
